Aleratec Introduces 11-Target IDE/SATA Hard Disk Drive Duplicator

Saturday, January 12th, 2013

Chatsworth,California (PRWEB) October 16, 2012

Aleratec today introduced the 1:11 HDD Copy Cruiser IDE/SATA hard drive duplicator. This tower disk duplicator and sanitizer is compatible with both IDE and SATA hard disk drives and has more than double the capacity of Aleratecs popular 1:5 HDD Copy Cruiser IDE/SATA, giving users the ability to finish their large duplication or sanitization jobs even faster.

The 1:11 HDD Copy Cruiser IDE/SATA is a powerful, standalone hard disk drive duplicator. It can create up to 11 perfect hard drives clones simultaneously by performing a sector-by-sector copy from a single source hard disk to up to 11 target drives. This copy includes partition and boot sector information for a perfect clone. When a sector-level copy is not required, the 1:11 HDD Copy Cruiser IDE/SATA can also do file-level copies for supported file formats, which can save a significant amount of time.

It can also reliably wipe all traces of data from up to 12 hard disk drives at a time using Secure Erase, a National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800-88 approved method for clearing hard disks. This feature uses fast, secure algorithms created by the drive manufacturer and is built into most modern SATA hard drives as well as some IDE hard drives. If Secure Erase is not supported, the 1:11 HDD Copy Cruiser IDE/SATA can still sanitize drives with a choice of three comprehensive overwrite algorithms: a one-pass wipe, a three-pass wipe with verify, or a powerful seven-pass wipe which follows the Department of Defense 5220.22-M sanitization recommendation.

The 1:11 HDD Copy Cruiser is compatible with 2.5″ and 3.5″ internal SATA hard disk drives, as well as 3.5″ internal IDE hard drives. It will even work with 2.5″ internal IDE hard drives when used with optional adapters (Product Number 350116), sold separately. It is also compatible with mSATA SSDs, Compact Flash (CF) Cards, CFast Cards and 1.8″ MicroSATA SSDs with Aleratec adapters (part numbers 350118, 350119, 350120, 350122), not included.

For the ultimate in flexibility, you can copy from either a SATA or an IDE source drive to any combination of SATA and IDE targets. You can also sanitize any combination of SATA and IDE drives at the same time.

“The Aleratec 1:11 HDD Copy Cruiser IDE/SATA was designed for our customers who want a high-volume duplicator and sanitizer that works with both IDE and SATA hard drives, says Perry Solomon, Aleratecs President and CEO. The increased capacity of this model combined with many advanced features delivers both the high productivity and high quality results that our Prosumer customers demand.

Its combined duplication and sanitization capacities make the 1:11 HDD Copy Cruiser IDE/SATA an essential tool for building, upgrading and decommissioning computer systems. It also requires no computer or extra software to run. With all of these advanced features, this duplicator and sanitizer is the perfect tool for IT departments, businesses and government agencies in need of a reliable and complete solution for hard disk drive management.

The Aleratec 1:11 HDD Copy Cruiser IDE/SATA complements Aleratec’s line up of award-winning HDD Duplicators with an industrial-grade solution. Please visit the Aleratec website to view the full selection.

The Aleratec 1:11 HDD Copy Cruiser IDE/SATA is available for shipment now with an Estimated Retail Price of $ 2,729 and is available from Aleratecs dedicated resellers and Distribution partners.

Question: Can DVD recorders connect to an Antenna, Cable, or Satellite Box?

Answer: Any antenna, cable, or satellite box with RF, AV, or S-video outputs can be connected to any DVD recorder. However, DVD recorders do not accept progressive scan or HDTV input interfaces (although almost all DVD recorders can output progressive scan on DVD playback). So, if you have an HD satellite box, you will have to use the satellite box’s alternate RF, AV, or S-video outputs to connect to the DVD recorder’s inputs.

What is the difference between a DVD drive with blue ray disc support and a blue ray disc player?

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2012

Question by btsd 1: What is the difference between a DVD drive with blue ray disc support and a blue ray disc player?
I’m looking at computers and see a DVD RW/CD-RW with blue ray disc support. Can you play all blue ray movies on a DVD player with blue ray support? What features are not present on a DVD drive with blue ray support that might be present with a blue ray player?

Best answer:

Answer by Colanth
A player isa a box you connect to a TV set to play disks on it. Computers use drives. (A player is a drive, power supply, case and a few other components.) A computer that claims to have a disk (or any kind – CD, DVD or BR) player is just an ad written by a computer illiterate person. Computers have drives, not players.

The features question is moot, since whatever the differences, you can’t use a player on a computer. (The differences are that a player has video output and probably TV output [channel 3/channel4 in North America].)
