How long does it take for Indie films to come out on dvd?

Friday, May 4th, 2012

Question by Lighteye13721: How long does it take for Indie films to come out on dvd?
Or maybe even blu-ray. There is a movie called “Le Havre” that i really want to see. It was shown at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival and based on what i read about it, i think it might be good. Also do films like these even come out on home media, or are they just shown on the big screen and retired after that.

Best answer:

Answer by John
It might never be on DVD or Blu-Ray. It takes some pretty serious funds for that, and indie films often don’t generate that kind of dough. Some do, though, so don’t write it off yet.

What do you think? Answer below!

Q&A: How can i tell if my laptop is high definition? How good quality with downloaded hd or blu-ray films look?

Monday, April 30th, 2012

Problem by : How can i explain to if my laptop computer is substantial definition? How very good top quality with downloaded hd or blu-ray movies seem?
I was just wondering if my new laptop computer was Substantial Def? Is there a way of finding out? It is a dell XPS m1530…

I was also wondering, if my laptop is higher definition, how considerably much better high quality will a downloaded bluray or High definition rip seem compared with a standard .avi or a thing like that? As the file dimensions is approx 7gb when compared with 700mb – Is it really worth it?

Eventually, if i hook up my laptop up to our High definition Tv by way of an HDMI cable will downloaded bluray rips perform at High definition bluray high quality via that? Or do i require to set one thing so it is aware the Tv display screen size.resilution to operate correctly?

Many thanks in advance!

Your laptop’s greatest resolution is 1280×800. This is sixteen:10 widescreen. It can enjoy 720p movies at total resolution, but not 1080p videos.

Never know what this implies? I am going to tell you. You can have Hi-def. Or you can have widescreen. You can have both at once, or you have have neither. Allow me describe.

1st I will define widescreen.
• The monitor of the keep an eye on you are searching at is sixteen-tenths as vast as it is tall. This is a sixteen:10 ratio monitor. This is widescreen.
• In a widescreen show, the display is sixteen-ninths as broad as it is tall, or sixteen-tenths. This is widescreen, and it is sixteen:9 or sixteen:10 ratio.
• In a regular screen, the display screen of the monitor is four-thirds as extensive as it is tall. This is a four:three ratio keep track of. This is NOT widescreen.

And then there is Hi-def. There is a whole lot of terminology to Hd and I will make clear. Obtaining progressively better as you go down the listing, we have:

• 420i (not High definition)
• 420p (kind of High definition)
• 720i (kind of High definition)
• 720p (Hi-def)
• 1080i (Hi-def)
• 1080p (It’s…. Stunning…) (Hi-def)

In the over descriptions, the quantities (480, 720, 1080) represent the number of horizontal lines of pixels in the monitor. So a 1080p check has 1,080 rows of pixels in its display.

The letters in the descriptions (“i” or “p”) inform you if the monitor is interlaced scan or progressive scan.

• Interlaced (“i”) indicates that it displays each and every other line, and then every single OTHER line, above and more than.
So a 1080i screen shows lines one, three, 5, 7… and then 2, 4, six, eight…
• Progressive (“p”) signifies that the monitor shows ALL the lines at when. This indicates that a 1080p monitor displays lines one, 2, 3, 4, 5… and so on above and above.

Once again, you can have Hd and not widescreen (but this is uncommon), or widescreen and not Hi-def, and usually both, or often neither.

_____

So your laptop can play 720p High definition films at complete resolution. Even so, it can’t play 1080p High definition videos at complete resolution. Still, the two must look quite very good taking part in on your personal computer. Still, nevertheless, you might contemplate just finding the AVI, it’s really not negative.

What do you believe? Solution below!
